Our Vision
Our vision is to establish an industry-leading maritime training and professional development facility in New Zealand, purpose-built to support the needs of the commercial maritime sector. Currently, many New Zealand operators send personnel to Australia or further afield to access high-quality simulator training, increasing costs and operational disruption. By developing this capability domestically, we aim to deliver training of an exceptional international standard through a more sustainable and cost-effective model.
By combining advanced simulation technology with industry expertise and practical insight, the facility will support training, competency assessment, operational analysis, and industry collaboration. Our simulator systems will be maintained at the forefront of modern technology and will also provide a platform for research and development that supports the continued advancement of New Zealand’s maritime sector.
We aim to deliver world-class training to strengthen the capability of Kiwi seafarers and ensure they remain competitive in the global maritime workforce.
The project is currently progressing through consultation and development phases, with the goal of delivering a fully operational facility by 2027.

Our Simulators
The Voyager Maritime Centre will be equipped with the latest technology and world-class Bridge and Engine simulation systems capable of replicating a wide range of maritime operations with exceptional realism. An extensive library of ship, port and coast models, high-definition visual systems, and advanced weather and tidal modelling combine to create a highly immersive and operationally accurate environment.
All simulator suites will be fully integrated, allowing bridge, engine, and tug simulators to operate simultaneously within a shared scenario, enabling complex, multi-disciplinary exercises that reflect real-world maritime operations.
